Copyright

Since 2022, Revista Historia y Patrimonio provides free, open, free and immediate access to its final publication content under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NonDerivs 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 DEED) license, with no embargo period and no registration required for users. This is done on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports greater global knowledge sharing.

The journal does not charge a fee for editing, layout and publication of the contributions it receives. It adheres to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), emphasizing open access, open copyright licenses and open archives. It is committed to unrestricted access to published works, which are available in the “archives” section.

Revista Historia y Patrimonio is defined as a publication in which the copyright holder grants rights of use to third parties through an open license (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 DEED). This allows free and immediate access to the articles and authorizes any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts, crawl them for indexing, transfer them to software or use them for any legal purpose. Upon receipt of the articles, editors and reviewers are free to suggest partial modifications of their content, without affecting the sense of the author's arguments. After acceptance of the articles for publication, the journal is free to reproduce the contents for dissemination purposes, duly indicating the authors. The authors of each article will keep the intellectual property and the rights recognized by law.

The submission and evaluation of material received by Revista Historia y Patrimonio implies that the authors know and accept the following conditions:

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NonDerivs 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 DEED) license, which allows third parties to use what is published as long as they make reference to the author(s) of the work and its publication in this journal. The use must be non-commercial and the article may not be modified and distributed.
  • In the event that an article, review or project note includes images or figures by authors who wish to restrict the specific use of that material, the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NonDerivs 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 DEED) license may be applied with a special note at the foot of the image or figure in question. This license allows third parties to use the published material as long as they make reference to the author(s) of the work and its publication in this journal. In this case, the use must be non-commercial and, if the material is modified, it may not be distributed.
  • Authors are free to make other contractual arrangements for non-exclusive distribution of the article they publish in this journal (such as including it in an institutional collection or publishing it in a book), if they clearly indicate the original publication of the work in this journal.
